I see this very aged man, go to the wall in front of my house, and hit tennis balls. He cannot run or bend and can barely hit 5 balls in a row, but every day he is out there trying to hit some tennis balls. I find that incredible! Now I don't know the reason behind him trying to play tennis, but it taught me a lesson.
His persistence taught me that I need to have the strength and the patience for being able to do the same thing every day. It not only reminded me to push myself to do better every day but also be passionate about whatever I am doing for myself, because I am doing it for me. It doesn't matter what the task is or what would people think about it, as long as you trust and believe yourself, then no one has the right to stop you from doing it.
I am pretty sure all of us grew up in houses where we heard our parents always using words such as "motivation", "dedication", "success", "passion", et cetera and et cetera, but what do these words really mean? where and how do we find it?. Honestly, it is not hard at all, but the thing that is really hard to do is the ability to do this every day 24*7 until it's achieved.
One thing you all work hard for is turning your dream into reality, and that requires you to go through ups and downs, but the most essential factor is to have the ability to get up and fight to achieve it. We are all surrounded by individuals working hard to achieve their goals, so why can’t you? Why not try to see the positive and inspirational side of everything? Everything in life is a lesson because there is so much more to experience, so why not pamper and inspire yourselves?
Looking up to successful individuals is just as important as it is to look around and watching people climbing up the ladder to success. Start looking around, try to understand the purpose behind every task that comes your way! I believe everyone in life has a purpose, so find yours and don’t stop until you achieve it, and when you achieve it, take a breath and find another purpose in life.
From giving up my dream to go pro in tennis, to ending up in the US to study computer science, I decided to take a drastic turn. I changed my major to psychology, and when my parents asked me why did I choose psychology, I said because there was a phase in my life where I wish I had someone to help me through all the pressure I got from my family or people around me, and I went through all of it myself, but I want to be that someone for somebody looking for help.
I believe my purpose in life is to help. I want my words to create change, I want my smile and my tasks to light up the world and make it better. Growing up in India, people usually don’t believe in psychology and psychologists, and I still remember how people in society would come to me and ask me to do better in life, chose a career that will pay good in the future, blah blah blah, but hey, none of that matters, and it will never matter because I know what I want, and I will not stop until I get it.
This is my very first time writing a blog, but I definitely want to end this with a few questions that you should write on your wall “What do I want in life? What is my purpose? Am I working hard towards my purpose?”; also write 5 affirmation statements to motivate yourself in order to achieve success!
Amazing words!!! 👌🏻👌🏻♥️
